About

Welcome to the Mixtape Diaries. A blog focused on shedding insight, candid perspective, and hope on the topic of mental health, addiction, recovery, and the mental health industry.  Shared from my own personal and professional perspectives based on my own experiences. My hope is that through a level of personal transparency and vulnerability I can do my part to help provide education and insight around addiction and mental health; as well as address some important topics within the field and some cultural misconceptions. Along with sharing some experiences of living in recovery as a father and husband. The posts you find in this blog are a mixed bag of my own personal experiences as an addict in recovery, as well as experiences from the years I struggled in active addiction and with untreated mental health.  You’ll also come across posts with my professional opinions about issues within the treatment industry and within our culture in regards to addiction and mental health. Not only am I in recovery I am also a practicing mental health therapist; licensed in New Hampshire, Utah and Arizona.  I hold a masters degree in clinical social work and have worked for over a decade in the mental health field.

Enjoy and welcome to the Mixtape Diaries.
